The couple Ekelyck takes over
Eva Olofsson retires, and Madeleine and Inge Ekelyck start as contact persons for BCM in Sweden

The bakery expands
A completely new and greater local buy-in and the BCM Bakery also offers numerous food.

MaeChan
The home MaeChan opens with 30 children.
New Director
Meechai Wongvoravit starts as new director.

ThAid formed
The founding organisation ThAid is formed in Norway.

The home in Mae Suay is built and children in Phayagong moves there.

MaeChan closed
The home MaeChan closed because of air pollution and the children move to HuaDoi.
BCM Sweden formed
The founding organisation BCM Sweden (current Child Friend) is formed.

New Director
The board assigns Knut Inge Bergem to be the new director.
HIV Children at Eden
The HIV infected children are integrated with the other children at Huadoi.
The medicine is working well and there is minimal risk of disease transmission

Knut-Inge Bergem takes over the director chore.
New board members
A new Board of directors is established, with 2 members from Thailand, Sweden and Norway.
MaeSuay
The home in MaeSuay is taken over from former staff at the same place

Youths move to Chiang Rai
The older children are moving in to the city of Chiangrai in a rented house, to get more indecency and life experience
English program
The new English program starts up, giving committed students the opportunity to study in USA

The BaanChivitMai Foundation, which means “Home for New Life”, is an independent local relief organization in Thailand that has saved several hundred children and youth from a life of prostitution and drug dealing. Through BCM's ministry, at-risk children and youth are provided with a safe place to live and the opportunity to attend public school.
